Why is it so hard to meet single Catholics? I mean REAL Catholics? We're out there, right?? Am I the only one sick of hearing, "Well, I was raised Catholic, but...."

`What do you mean "REAL" Catholics? Some people may have more direction, but I'd imagine lack of direction doesn't interfere with one's faith - just one's ability to practice his or her faith.
Maybe that's just me though...

`I was the complete opposite of "I was raised Catholic, but". I had to own my faith starting at the age of 14-15. My immediate family does not go to church, I am the only one. So I could say I was not raised Catholic, but I came back through the will of Jesus.

`I believe you hear that because there is a lack direction for the church. ( yes small c, that means us, the people in the Church. Large C is for the Bride of Christ, Church ) So much has been lost since VII that many people simply feel what's the point and leave the faith entirely or go somewhere else. So few have adequate Catechesis, they hear and see things and don't know how to respond as a Catholic, so feel lost.
But don't give up. We ARE OUT HERE!! And I am noticing that our numbers are finally starting to grow again.
