Hey I was wondering what anyone thought of the Pope's letter to the bishops allowing the use of the Tridentine Rite and the 1962 Missel?
I quite like it because I think it will allow us to love our tradition, and will also bring back a universal language. Once I brush up on my latin, I'll be able to go to a Mass in a foreign country that I actually understand.
Whats your view on it? Good or bad?

`I think it's a good thing because as you said, it allows us to keep tradition alive. I don't think it should go back to being the Mass that everyone has to go to, but I'm glad it will make somewhat of a comeback.
God Bless

`In my opinion the Latin Mass was what created the Universal aspect of worship. Everywhere in the world everyone was saying the same prayers in the same language to the one and same true God. I only became Catholic in 2004 and I am 60 this year, but I hope we all say the Latin Mass again all the time.

`I feel quite differently, as stories have been passed on to me about the latin mass, it was a time when most didnt understand a single word and and quite difficult to participate. i personally like it being said in language i understand in which i can participate, as for getting to other countries, that will never happen to me anyway, so not a concern for me.

`I like the idea of the Latin Mass from the persepctive of upholding tradition. But it IS much more difficult to participate in the Latin Mass. That's for sure! I love being able to be an aactive participant in Mass.

`I feel it is a good thing. A TLM is a wonderful way to worship God in the father through the Son. The Novus Ordo mass felt too much like the protestant services I left behind.
Because I am not a cradle Catholic, I spent allot of time learning the faith before I would even come to RCIA. The NO mass looses allot in the translation.
